Participant information

How would you set a price?

Make 10 pricing choices for a simulated supplier. We study how sales rules and information affect decisions. Customers follow computer rules; there are no other players.

What participation involves

You are randomly assigned one sales rule, an early-customer share, and either a calculator or a full outcome table. Two choices use fixed early-customer quantities and receipts; eight use your assigned active sales rule. All prices, costs, profits and scores are hypothetical. Please try to earn a high hypothetical score, using only the tools on this page.

Your data and choices

We record your random assignment, prices, understanding-check attempts, submission times and recruitment-link code. We do not ask for your name, email, income or financial records. A random browser code helps prevent repeat entries and lets you resume. We cannot guarantee one entry per person across browsers.

You may close this page at any time. Choices already submitted remain available for analysis unless you use “Withdraw and delete”. Keep your recovery code to access that option. Withdrawal deletes individual choices and associated study details from the active database; an unlinked assignment count remains to measure missing data. Previously published aggregate statistics cannot be undone.

This is an independent research project supported by AI tools. De-identified decisions may be analyzed using AI and retained for research verification. Contact messages are separate from pricing data and may be handled by an AI assistant; avoid sending sensitive details. The hosting service also processes ordinary connection information to operate this site.

There is no promised personal benefit. The task may feel repetitive or mathematically demanding. It involves no real purchase, investment advice, deception about payment, or requirement to finish.

Enrollment is closed while a working research contact is being arranged.

Enrollment is not open. Please return only after a recruitment announcement.
